Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the bridge lift times?

Our data comes directly from the official Tower Bridge website and is updated automatically every Monday morning. Times are typically very accurate, but bridge lifts can occasionally be cancelled at short notice due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

First, make sure you've enabled notifications for Tower Bridge Lifts in your iOS Settings. Go to Settings > Notifications > Tower Bridge Lifts and ensure "Allow Notifications" is turned on. Also check that you haven't enabled "Do Not Disturb" mode.

How does location-based notification work?

When you enable location permissions, the app detects when you're within 1km of Tower Bridge (coordinates: 51.5055° N, 0.0754° W). You'll get a special notification alerting you that you're nearby and can check for upcoming bridge lifts. Your location data never leaves your device.

What devices are supported?

Tower Bridge Lifts requires iOS 15.0 or later and works on all iPhone and iPad models that support this iOS version. The app is optimized for both phone and tablet interfaces with responsive design.

Is my personal data safe?

Absolutely! We take privacy seriously. Location data is processed entirely on your device and never sent to our servers. We only collect the minimum data necessary to provide bridge lift notifications. No personal information is stored or shared with third parties.

How often is the data updated?

Bridge lift data is automatically refreshed every Monday at 9 AM UTC. You can also manually refresh the data anytime by pulling down on the list or tapping the refresh button. The app caches data for up to 7 days to ensure reliability.

Can I customize notification timing?

Yes! In the app settings, you can customize which notifications you receive. Choose from alerts 1 hour, 30 minutes, or 10 minutes before each bridge lift. You can also enable or disable proximity notifications separately.

The app isn't showing any bridge lifts

If you're not seeing any bridge lifts, try pulling down to refresh the data or tapping the refresh button. Check that you have an internet connection. If the problem persists, there may genuinely be no scheduled bridge lifts in the coming days, which sometimes happens.
